Ha Long Bay is located in the northeastern part of Vietnam. In a not very large area, thousands of islands with different forms look like glittering emeralds attached to the blue scarf of a virgin. The area where many stone islands concentrate has spectacular scenes and world-famous caves is the center of Ha Long Bay Natural Heritage. They are the result of many times of rising and lowering processes of the continent to form a karst. The process of nearly full erosion and weathering of the karst created the unique Ha Long Bay in the world.
Sapa was originally built as a hill station by the French in the early years of XX century. They constructed villas, a small hydroelectric station, a church, tennis courts, even an aerodrome. All still remain in Sapa today. Tucked high in Vietnam's remote northern mountains, the former French military outpost of Sapa offers some of Vietnam's most colorful experiences. The views are breath taking. Vietnam's highest peak, the 3,143-metre Mount Fansipan, looms overhead, while the surrounding valleys feature terraced rice paddies and blazing green fields…

Meet at your place and start the city tour. We first visit to the Ho Chi Minh complex (*), where the body lies in a glass case with dim lights in the mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh's simple open wooden house on stilts surrounded by garden, Presidential palace built between 1900 and 1906 to house the French Governor-General of Indochina, Ba Dinh Square where Ho Chi Minh declared the independence of the Vietnam Democratic Republic in 1945.
Continue to visit the nearby One pillar pagoda – a wooden pagoda on a single stone pillar. Later on, we visit the Temple of Literature (Van Mieu), which originally built as a Confucius Temple, then became Vietnam’s first university dating back to 1070.
Lunch at restaurant. After lunch, continue to discover the city with: The Ethnology Museum, the unique museum to recreate successfully the daily life activities, the religious ritual and the symbolized festivals of each ethnic group in Vietnam.
Back to the downtown, visit Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple and the the lively Old Quarter of Hanoi.
Dinner at restaurant then transfer to the railway station for night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on train
Arrive Lao Cai station early in the morning. Our guide meet at entrance of the station and bring you to Sapa. Have breakfast at restaurant in the town.
Visit Cat Cat village, this is an H’Mong village lying on the Bank of Cat Cat stream, about 4km from Sa Pa Centre. There is an existing Power station built by the French next to a very nice stream where you can sit and relax on big stones. Discovering around, meeting local people…
Continue with a light and short trek to Sin Chai, another H’mong village. In the early XX century, when the French turned Sapa into a hill station, the inhabitants of Sa Pa at that time were resettled to the site of Sin Chai, and the new village found.
Lunch at local restaurant in Sapa. After lunch, check in hotel and rest.
PM: Free to explore the hill town. You may like to climb Ham Rong Mountain where you can view the whole spectacular panorama of the town. Overnight at hotel in Sapa.
AM: After breakfast at hotel, check out then you will commence a short journey by driving south toward Muong Hoa valley. You will then start your walk descending into the valley, which is home to the largest terrace rice paddy in the Sapa area. Your guide will provide you interesting information about the cultivation of rice. Continue from the Black H’mong village of Lao Chai to the Giay village of Ta Van, see Zay minority group at their daily work.
Lunch at a nice restaurant near Ta Van.
Proceed to Ta Phin, a village lying in a hillside meadow, experience the unmixed cultural life of the Black Hmong and the Red Dao minorities. You will experience their traditional daily life by visiting some local homes.
Continue to Lao Cai, visit the Lao Cai border town (between Vietnam & China) if time permits.
Dinner before getting night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on train.
Arrive Hanoi early in the morning, pick up and transfer to Ha Long. Stop on the way for breakfast and short break.
Continue riding Ha Long City. Water buffalos, paddy fields (rice transplanting time: February and June) and daily Vietnamese farmer life are on both sides of the way.
Arrive in Halong pier at noon time. Embark our private boat and start for 04 hours cruising on the bay which will bring you an unforgettable memory. You will be marveled by thousands of cave and islets. The boat stops at Thien Cung grotto, one of the most beautiful sightseeing places of Halong Bay. Climbing up to the caves, you will have chance to admire sparkling stalactites and stalagmites well as to view the whole panorama of Halong Bay.
Fresh seafood lunch is provided on board the boat.
Disembark the boat and transfer back to Hanoi.
